Saving Time and Money

One commitment we made to ourselves from the start: no vendor needs to join Altius more than once. No separate schemes for different sectors, so no charging the same vendor two, three, four times. That reduces cost in the supply-chain and it also means that every new client that joins helps to spread the cost further. But doesn’t that lead to a one-size-fits-all assessment? Not a bit of it...

Your Assessment to Your Requirements

We’re pretty confident that our core assessment will cover most of what you need, from all the key requirements of health & safety legislation to the necessary levels of insurance. Then there’s the other information we already gather, which you can use to build additional requirements. Finally, we’ll add on anything else you need. If you want us to check specifics of insurance coverage, we’ll do it; if you need your vendors to have some specific training, we’ll check that too. It’s your assessment, we just look after it for you.

Effective Risk Management

You know your vendors pretty well. Their strengths and weaknesses, what they can and can’t do for you. And of course, if you’re using Altius, you know that they meet all your requirements. But what about the bigger picture, right across your supply chain? Have you got the right balance of smaller and larger companies? Do you know which companies are financially sound and which are at risk of going out of business? Or which companies rely on just one or two key clients? Altius puts this information at your fingertips, enabling you to anticipate risks and manage them effectively.

Reducing Duplication

If there’s one thing vendors complain about, and understandably so, it’s the time and money they have to spend providing the same information to different clients and assessment providers. Altius is committed to reducing this duplication. That’s why we’re members of SSIP, through which we recognise others’ health & safety assessments and they recognise ours. It’s also why we allow vendors to share their information and documentation with anyone they like, and why we give them the tools to do it. Slowly but surely, it’s making a difference.

Getting Better and Better

We don’t rest on our laurels and neither do you. That’s why we have our “Aim Higher” programme for your vendors, helping them to aspire to and achieve new standards, and why we work with you to bring about improvements right across your supply-chain. Say you want all of your vendors to have an environmental policy. We’ll let you know which currently do and which don’t, lay out a timeframe for those that don’t, and give them all the support we can to meet your new requirement. Simple vendor improvement, all part of the service.
